Building by giving back
Collaboration and cooperation in our industry is essential to advance metalcraft craftsmanship. Since our founder Ernest Wiemann co-founded the National Ornamental & Miscellaneous Metals Association (NOMMA) in 1958, and continuing today with our active participation in trade associations and events, we recognize that our entire industry works better when we work together.
In recognition of Ernest Wiemann’s industry leadership, NOMMA named its annual Top Job Award in his honor. Wiemann Metalcraft has earned more NOMMA awards than any other American fabricator. Wiemann president Doug Bracken has also served as NOMMA president and helped coordinate its premier industry event, METALfab.
Wiemann has also advanced the industry through past and present memberships in The Association for Preservation Technology International (APTi), the Artist-Blacksmith’s Association of North America (ABANA), American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the Tulsa Foundation for Architecture (TFA). We have also lent support to the Metal Museum in Nashville, Tenn., including donations of historically important blacksmithing samples from J.G. Braun.
In 2023, Wiemann received an award from the Copper Development Association for our mausoleum door project on behalf of Coldspring.
Wiemann regularly participates in industry tradeshows, including the Traditional Building Conference.
